Niagara Falls is generally a huge tourist destination in the summer months, when the weather is warm and the full effect of the Falls can be seen. But there is a special charm to Niagara in the winter, one that makes you feel as though you have stepped into a magical winter wonderland. Currently eastern North America is experiencing a serious cold spell, and the resulting bitter temperatures have frozen much of the Falls. The precarious icicles, parts of the river frozen in what seems like midstream and icy winter branches surrounding the area have created a beautiful, Narnia-like fantasy land.
