Ferrero Rocher Trifle

Dessert for a group is stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Trifles are just too easy to throw together.

Ferrero Rocher is in everyone’s stockings at Christmas time and why not make a super creamy Nutella mousse layered with moist chocolate cake and everyone’s favorite whipped cream! Top it all off with whole Ferrero Rocher right on top!


For Chocolate Cake:

  • 1 favorite box cake mix, cut up into 1-inch cubes

  • ½ cup hot chocolate

For Nutella Mousse:

  • 3/4 cup Nutella

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 6 Tablespoon cream

For Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup whipping cream

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 6 Ferrero Rocher, chopped roughly


For Nutella Mousse:

  1. Beat all together until smooth. Add enough milk to ensure a pudding-like consistency.

For Whipped Cream:

  1. Whip cream until soft peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla and beat a little more but not too much!

For Assembly:

  1. Arrange half of the chocolate cake pieces in the bottom of your bowl.

  2. Drizzle 4 Tb of hot chocolate over the top of the cake pieces.

  3. Spread half of the Nutella mousse over the cake evenly.

  4. Spread half of the whipped cream over the mousse.

  5. Sprinkle half of the chopped Ferrero Rocher over the whipped cream.

  6. Repeat all layers.

  7. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. You can make it ahead of time and refrigerate overnight too.
