Afraid Woman Stunned By Teenager’s Act Caught On Camera

A teenager’s act of kindness has gone viral.

Most of us have learned to be cautious before opening the door to strangers, and Sacramento, California mom Melissa Vang was no exception. So when she heard a knock on the door one afternoon while home with her two children, she did not immediately answer it.

She saw a teenage boy standing outside and decided to avoid opening the door at first.

But then what she saw next stunned herβ€” the boy walked to the home’s security camera, held up a wallet and then placed it on the door step before walking away.

“It’s sad that I didn’t trust him to open my door when he was just doing a good deed. Sadly, this is the world we live in today,” she later explained.

God bless this young man's heart. My husband dropped his wallet (with hundreds of dollars and all his credit cards) in our drive way and this gentleman picked it up and left it at our doorstep after waiting for a few minutes, because I wouldn't open the door (for strangers). I later found him. Thanked and rewarded him for his kind gesture. πŸ™ It's sad that I didn't trust him to open my door when he was just doing a good deed. Sadly, this is the world we live in today. We hear so much terrible news and barely any good. I think we all need to be reminded that there are still good people out there. His act of kindness cannot go unrecognized. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Thank you Tyler. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ Please share!

It turns out that the wallet belonged to her husband, who had apparently dropped it in the driveway earlier that day. β€œGod bless this young man’s heart. My husband dropped his wallet (with hundreds of dollars and all his credit cards) in our driveway and this gentleman picked it up and left it at our doorstep after waiting for a few minutes, because I wouldn’t open the door (for strangers),” she explained.

Happily, Vang later tracked down the teenager, thanked and rewarded him. β€œWe hear so much terrible news and barely any good. I think we all need to be reminded that there are still good people out there. His act of kindness cannot go unrecognized.”

The teen’s name is Tyler Opdyke and he is responsible for restoring some of our faith in humanity. The wallet he found contained $1500 that Vang’s husband had been collecting from friends and family for an event, as well as several credit cards. Tyler later said, “I’ve been raised in the Church all my life and I just felt this is not mine.”

Vang said the footage touched her heart. She’s not alone.
