Family Films Son with Down Syndrome, Has No Idea Video Will Go Viral

Dane Miller, of Prosper, Texas, had no idea that a video of him singing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston would go viral. In fact, he was so fully invested in belting out the song with drama and emotion, that he might not have even been aware the moment was being captured on camera.

Jeanne Miller, aunt to 9-year-old Dane Miller, posted it on Facebook. Her nephew Dane has Down syndrome. His expressions, enthusiasm and dedication to the song can’t help but make you smile.

Watch as this special boy gives his all to the epic song.

Shortly after the video was posted, it went viral. The clip has over 180,000 reactions, over 350,000 shares on Facebook, and a whopping 27 MILLION views! Needless to say the Miller family is shocked by the amount of attention the video has gotten.

Danna Miller, the boy’s mom, says, “Just reading the comments, they’re so sweet. I’m getting emotional. Some other families who have Down Syndrome children have posted pictures with their kids.”

Apparently Dane is a music lover of the highest caliber, and his favorites include Taylor Swift, Kidz Bop Kids, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Carol of Bells.” The family watched a documentary about Whitney Houston which sparked Dane’s interest in the music artist. “We watched a Whitney Houston documentary and Dawson downloaded that song,” Danna told Inside Edition. “He kept on playing it in the car and Dane has fallen in love with it. He has put his own touch on it.”

The family has even set up a YouTube channel to document the child’s personality and musical talents.

Danna said of her son, “When we had Dane, we didn’t know that he had Down syndrome, but it wouldn’t have mattered. He has been probably the biggest blessing of our lives. He is just so loving and joyful. He is what’s good about this world.”
