A tiny monkey, caught on film at the Sacred Monkey Forest in Bali, Indonesia, got a little frisky with one of the tourists recently.
The monkeys in the Ubud Monkey Forest, another name for the area, are used to visitors bringing them fruit or bananas as treats, but this woman didn’t have any snacks for the little guy. Despite this the monkey climbed onto her shoulder and inspected her tank top, possibly wondering if she was hiding any goodies in there.
The visitor’s husband recorded the encounter, during which he says, “They love you.”
The monkey forest is considered by locals to be an important spiritual conservation center for the nearby village. They value the forest’s ability to create peace and harmony for the 10,000 or so visitors it receives each month.
For this visitor at least, it was also a source of hilarity. As the monkey gets a bit fresh with her, she cracks up. Her husband yells, “Hey! Hey! That’s my wife!”
Later the woman wrote online, “Most people had bananas or other pieces of fruit to encourage the monkeys to come to them but I did not have anything to lure them.
“They were simply attracted to me naturally.
“The monkey groped my breast and tried to breastfeed after sitting on my shoulder and playing with my hair. It was hilarious.”
