DIY Sidewalk Chalk Will Keep Your Kids Entertained All Summer

It may seem like a simple piece of chalk, but it is the beginning of a million activities taking place every day on playrooms, sidewalks, and playgrounds. It unleashes hopscotch. Foursquare. Tic-tac-toe or just to scribble some silly drawings. It’s endless hours of fun but more importantly really simple to make.

Sidewalk chalk will keep your kids entertained all summer! Be careful not to pour any of the plaster down the drain or you’ll end the week with damaged pipes. Enjoy!

Materials

  • Plaster of Paris

  • Tempera Paint

  • Silicone Pop Mold

  • Wood Craft Sticks

  • Plastic Cups

  • Plastic Spoons

  • Cold Water 1/3 cup

Directions

In a plastic cup mix together the cold water and 2 tbsp of tempera paint.

Add 2/3 cup Plaster of Paris and mix until thoroughly combined.

Pour all your colors into the silicone mold. Gently tap the mold to release any air bubbles that might be trapped in the mixture.

Insert the wooden craft sticks into the middle of each section and let dry for 24 hours.

Once dry your sidewalk chalk is ready to use!
