He Sees Man Dragging Girl Down Sidewalk, Then What She Mouths To Him Leaves Him Cold

Sometimes people are in the right place at the right time, by the grace of God.

In this case, a good Samaritan helped stop the bold kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl.

Here’s the story: Just across the street from Golf Manor Police Department in Golf Manor, Ohio, is a children’s park. An 11-year-old child was playing there one evening. Nearby the assailant waited for her to leave, and then grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her in the opposite direction of her home. “Very unusual, yes. And if you look at the video, you can see people coming and going, there’s activity in the park. So it was very unexpected,” said the Golf Manor Police Chief Christopher Campbell.

The assailant continued forcing the girl down the road. Two bystanders noticed. The girl saw them and mouthed the words “help me” several times to them as she was pulled past.

Nazier Elahee stopped them and asked her if she was okay. She said “no.” The assailant then ran. Nazier Elahee called 911 and then chased the man who was ultimately caught by police officers. He expressed that he has a child himself and can’t imagine his daughter not coming home one day. “Nobody should have to worry about their kid going to the park and not coming home.”

Thank God this man took the time to help this young girl. The police in Golf Manor are concerned that this may not have been the first time this man had similar contact with children in the area.

“Hopefully they don’t ever let that guy back out,” said Elahee. “If anyone sees a child in danger, there’s no harm in asking.” Even though we rely on our local police to keep us safe, they can’t be everywhere and must rely on community members to do the right thing when the occasion arises, as Elahee demonstrated.
