This Easy-To-Make Turkey Wreath Will Get You In The Thanksgiving Spirit

Why is it that Thanksgiving Decor is so difficult to find? Sure, you can find Halloween items as early as the end of July! But come September all the Christmas decor hits the stores and not a single item for Thanksgiving!

We are firm believers in not skipping Thanksgiving. While it is really hard to find fun Thanksgiving Decor items, We do what we can to help make our home festive for Thanksgiving. Like this simple Turkey Wreath! Give it a try and let us know how it turns out!

Materials

  • Foam wreath

  • Outdoor acrylic paint (brown, yellow and black)

  • Styrofoam ball (turkey’s head)

  • Styrofoam cone (turkey’s beak)

  • Two small Styrofoam balls (turkey’s eyes)

  • Brown yarn

  • Tulle (red, orange, brown and yellow)

  • Toothpicks

  • Hot glue

  • Red foam sheet

Directions

  1. Wrap your brown yarn around the foam wreath. Make sure to cover about 1/3 or the wreath with the yarn.

  2. Next paint your Styrofoam cone yellow, the larger ball brown and paint two black pupils on the small Styrofoam balls.

  3. Cut your tulle into strips into strips about 16-20 inches in length.

  4. Tie the strips of tulle around the part of the wreath that is not covered in brown yarn.

  5. Stick toothpicks in your Styrofoam balls and cone and stick into the yarn covered section of the wreath to form your turkey’s head, beak

    and eyes.

  6. Cut the waddle for your turkey out of the red foam sheet and glue to your turkey’s head under his beak.

  7. Your wreath is now ready to decorate your front door!
