This Man Says An “Angel” Was With Him As Driveshaft Darted Into His Windshield.

Every driver is faced with different perils while driving. Objects lying in the road – or sometimes worse, flying on the roadway – can be unavoidable at times. Just take a look at what happened to 56-year-old Steve Mongomery who follows the rules of the road while driving around Missouri.

On August 8th, when Steve was ending his last job around 8:15 p.m, he received his forewarning. He noticed a large pipe rolling around on the interstate. Only it wasn’t a pipe; it was a loose drive shaft. As a truck in front of him turned right over it and shot it right into Steve’s front window. Steve reacted quickly and ducked out of the way to avoid decapitation.  He also managed to safely bring his car to the side of the road with out causing another incident between on going traffic.

“I think an angel was driving the truck, ” he said. “When I was down, and I couldn’t see the highway to keep it on the road, somebody else was driving that truck.”

The best defense to debris is keeping your eye on the road. Always scan the area ahead of you and around you for possible situations. Falling debris can occur suddenly, so don’t follow closely. Also, you should always be aware of the cars around you, so you can make an informed decision about whether you can swerve safely to avoid debris in your lane.
